Cork

first off, here is a picture of lil miss whalespout!

during the past few days we decided not to take an extended trip east to Italy and Switzerland and instead to head north to northern France, England, Wales and now Ireland. We managed to move out of our apartment in Clermont-Ferrand without much difficulty (I suppose getting all of our stuff into our small Renault was a minor problem but with the help of a roof rack and some tiedowns we achieved it!) and the journey northward went well. Snowdonia (in Wales) was amazing to drive through – I highly recommend it. Fortunately, driving our car on the left hand side of the road was not as difficult to adjust to as I had originally figured it would be!

we are currently staying at a hotel in Cork, touring around a little before my internship starts on Monday the 15th. It is a very beautiful and green spring in Ireland, albiet still a little cold. Tomorrow morning we’re going to drive back to Dublin, visiting Blarney Castle (and kissing a certain stone in the process, of course) along the way.
