here, there, everywhere
we’re back in Ontario, at my family’s cottage on Paudash Lake – we will be here until the end of this month, at which point I’ll be heading off to France for school. The rest of the family will follow soon afterward.
it has been very hot here – quite uncharacteristic of a northern Ontario summer. The cottage doesn’t have any air conditioning (we don’t usually need it) which has made it somewhat uncomfortable during the heat wave that has taken place during the past few weeks – lately I have been taking frequent dips in the lake – but this is more than offset by the fact that it is truly great to be back up north and with with my family again. My mother has been extremely helpful with the new baby. Plus, Callum is very happy – he gets to play outside more than he was able to in Texas. We have taken him to the Paudash Lake beach several times, and he really seems to enjoy that.
Amelia is healthy and growing – she weighs well over ten pounds now. She is a couple of days over a month old. Lately she has shared a few smiles with us, though mostly she prefers to eat and sleep (in that order).
that’s all for now. We’ll be taking a trip to the (relative) metropolis of Peterborough early tomorrow morning to run a few errands – it’s an hour away by car – so time to sleep.
I still want to come visit. 🙂
And if you send me your mailing address, I have a present for you.
I’m thrilled to hear Amelia is doing so well! Post some pictures of Callum at the beach. He sounds like he’s just having the best time.
You must post pictures….
YES! Pictures!
You realize we have to have your mailing address in France so we can take care of you.
(You CAN get Newkies there, right?) 😉
Good lord man it HAS been a long time. Who’s Amelia? *hangs head in shame*
Hope all is going well for you, you busy busy bee.
